two guys share a moment as the sun sets on the shore.
When I spent some time in Seattle in the fall of 2023, my good friend and frequent collaborator/editor Davis Mawer found ourselves on the shore in a cabin in Vashon. We knew we wanted to film something with a beautiful natural scenery, but of course that couldn’t be the only thing. With some improvisation, and a little bit of ADR (and subtitles because the waves were so loud!), we managed to put together this silly skit! The subtitles proved to be a pretty unique narrative device, helping to isolate these characters and reinforce the fact that we are observing this interaction from afar.
